Join us for our annual First Day Hike at Nathan and Olive Boone Homestead State Historic Site. This moderately difficult hike will cover portions of all three of the site’s hiking trails – Spring Box, Homestead Interpretive and Prairie View – for a total of 2 miles. Participants will hike through what was once a thriving 19th century homestead, and the historic site superintendent will share stories about the town of Ash Grove.
This family-friendly event is free and open to all ages. Pets are welcome on the hike but must be kept on a leash at all times. Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather.
Space is limited for this event, and registration is required. Click here to register.
For more information, or to check the status of the hike, call the site office at 417-751-3266.
