Hiking, picnicking, camping, freshwater fishing, rowboat rentals, bridle paths, playground, dog run, and historic trust area.

Richly forested hills and valleys at the headwaters of the Nissequogue River, rowing and fishing on lovely Stump Pond, casual strolls through the Blydenburgh Farm and New Mill Historic District featuring a grist mill. These are but a few of the attractions of Blydenburgh County Park. This 627 acre park is open year-round to Suffolk County residents and their guests. Horseback riders may ride or trailer their mounts to Blydenburgh to utilize an extensive bridle path system and practice ring. Trailer parking is available at the northern (New Mill Road) entrance. Suffolk County horseback riding permits are required and must be visibly displayed by all riders. Freshwater fishing for pumpkinseed sunfish, large-mouth bass, perch and bluegill is permitted at Stump Pond between sunrise and sunset. New York State freshwater fishing laws apply. Rowboat rentals are generally available from mid-May to Labor Day. Use the southern (Veteran's Memorial Highway) entrance for these activities. Hikes through Blydenburgh are led on a regular basis by the Long Island Greenbelt Trail Conference, whose headquarters are located in one of the historic district houses.

Camping: Have 911 on speed dial. It’s the Wild West over there in the campground. One time someone was in our lot and the trash lady threatened to sick her crackhead husband on us, we had to camp in a empty lot on the other side of campground and arm myself with a hatchet in case the guy came to assault us. Called the people that work there over and over, they wouldn’t pick up. so it was either call police or just go on other side of campground and arm ourselves. Second time there some guy almost beat his wife in the lot next to us at 3am. Third time a group of people randomly drove in and did drugs two lots over. Everything else: Fresh air, wildlife all around you. Boat rentals are great.

Absolutely amazing. It's a beautiful park and the hiking trails are great. The park is also very dog friendly. I have camped here on multiple occasions and it is pleasant each time. I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking to get outside and experience the outdoors

Picturesque little gem on Long Island. Excellent for families, dogs, dates, whatever. The lake is beautiful and you can rent or bring your own boat. I love this place!

Dog park is the best in Suffolk County. Park has wonderful trails around the lake and dogs are permitted in the lake. Water available in the dog park. Rest room's available during season. Just wish they would do a better job repairing dirt road leading to dog park.
